2011,  Top 10 Kate Outfits

Top 10 Kate Outfits: 2011

Top 10 Kate Outfits: 2011

Today is the start of a new series on my top 10 Kate outfits from each year she has been a royal! Obviously we will start off in 2011, which was Kate’s first year as an official Royal. I also wanted to add that I have not abandoned my Cambridge Homes series but I am putting a hold on them for the time being.

2011 was a very experimental year for Kate regarding her wardrobe. We saw some very classic Kate outfits but we also saw her looking for new style approaches! But here are my Top 10 Kate Outfits from 2011 in no particular order!

10. Pre-Wedding Shopping

Kate shopping days before her wedding

My first outfit on this list is just a casual Kate shopping days before her wedding. It is a simple outfit and I love it. She is wearing a black Issa Wrap Dress paired with  Salvatore Ferragamo tan kitten heels with buckles and she was carrying a Prada bowler bag.

Issa is of course the brand of Kate’s iconic engagement dress. She wore Issa dresses quite often during 2011 but had to give them up as one of the Al Fayeds ( Diana’s lover’s family) bought the company and she doesn’t wear the brand anymore.
9. Northern Ireland Visit

My next outfit is another Pre-Wedding one. This is from Kate’ visit to Northern Ireland for one of her first engagements during her engagement period. She wore a Burberry wool trench coat but I sadly can’t find any details on her clutch and shoes. If I were to guess, she would probably be wearing her Stuart Weitzman Black Suede Pumps and maybe the Prada Black Satin Clutch

8. Armed Forces Day

Number 8 on the list goes to one of my all time favorite Kate outfits. I’m a sucker for coat outfits so don’t be surprised when you see many of these outfits on these lists! This whole outfit is just absolutely gorgeous!  She wore a custom made navy blue Alexander McQueen dress, a navy blue hat by Rachel Trevor-Morgan Millinery , an Anya Hindmarch “Marano” clutch bag in blue, and Alexander McQueen Navy Blue Suede Pumps.

7. Ottawa || Canada Tour

Kate in Ottawa

2 months after becoming The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, William and Kate embarked on their first tour as a married couple to Canada and short visit to California. The tour was a gift that kept on giving and if I could I would put almost all of the outfits on this list. But I can’t so I will just put my favorites!

Kate wore an Erdem “Cecile” laced dress for her first day of engagements in Ottawa. She paired it with nude L.K. Bennett Sledge Pumps and a clutch bag by Stuart Weitzman in nude.

6. Montreal || Canada Tour

This is another beautiful Erdem dress. Erdem is really a hit or miss for Kate (as we have seen recently in Sweden) but I think she knocked it out of the park for these Erdem dresses.

She wore the “Jacquenta” blue lace dress, paired with the same pumps and clutch as the outfit above.

5. Calgary || Canada Tour

I love casual Kate and this outfit was just so simple yet gorgeous and perfect for the Calgary Stampede!

She wore a Temperley London Blouse and her Goldsign bootcut jeans paired with a Butler and Wilson belt and R. Soles Virgi Chocolate Suede boots.

4. L.A. || California Visit

After William and Kate wrapped up their tour in Canada, they continued their North American visit with a stop in California. On her first day, Kate wore a beautiful blue-grey Roksanda Illincic dress paired with the L.K Bennett Natalie Clutch and her Jimmy Choo Lovely Pumps in Powder Pink.

3. Visit to Birmingham

Visit to Birmingham

I love nautical and military inspired looks and this one is gorgeous! She has worn it three times already (2011, 2014, and 2016) but I’m hoping she pulls out of her closet again some time in the near future. She wore an Alexander McQueen military silk-georgette blouse with an Alexander McQueen Embellished blue wool crepe skirt  paired with her Alexander McQueen Navy Blue Suede Pumps . Such a lovely outfit!

2.BAFTA Event in LA

Kate at a BAFTA Event in LA

This was one of our first opportunities to see Kate at a somewhat formal event and this is one of my all time favorite dresses that she has worn! She wore a bespoke lilac Alexander McQueen paired with Jimmy Choo’s Vamp glitter-finished sandals and Jimmy Choo’s Ubai metallic leather clutch. We haven’t seen this dress since so I hope she pulls it out of the closest soon!

1. Heathrow Airport

Kate at Heathrow Airport

My last outfit on this list goes to this beautiful but casual ensemble. This is from when Kate was at the Heathrow Airport in London boarding the plane to head on her first royal tour. It is pretty casual and business savvy and I love it!

Kate wore a Navy blue dress by Rolan Mouret paired with a navy blue blazer by designer Smythe, her Mulberry Polly Push-lock shoulder bag, and a pair of navy blue Manolo court shoes.

I hope you all enjoyed this new series that I will be working on! Picking my top 10 outfits was much harder than I thought and it will get harder by each year that I do this for!
