A Weekend At Wimbledon

This past weekend was all about the tennis at the Wimbledon Championships with The Duchess of Cambridge attending multiple matches and The Duke joining her for one!

Saturday: Girl’s/Mum’s Day Out

Saturday, July 13th, was the beginning of the Finals weekend. The Duchess of Cambridge arrived about an hour early before the Women’s Singles Match began to have lunch with some club members and patrons:

Before heading to her lunch, she took time to chat with some junior players: Kamilla Bartone, Oksana Selekhmeteva, Polina Kudermetova, and Giulia Morlet.

The Duchess arrived at the All England Lawn Tennis And Croquet Club, which she is patron of, with her younger sister Pippa Matthews  and they were later joined by The Duchess of Sussex for the Women’s Final between Serena Williams and Simona Halep!

The match was super intense but showed great quality tennis:

In the end, Simona Halep had a very well-deserved victory over Serena. She played exceptionally well and showed so much strength and focus!

Earlier that week in a press conference after she won her semi-finals, Simona expressed how much she would love if The Duchess of Cambridge were to go watch her play and she got that wish! In her post-win interview, Simona adorably fangirled over our Duchess!

The Duchess of Cambridge had the opportunity to quickly congratulate Simona! You can see Pippa behind Kate here laughing along:

Pippa and Kate headed back to Center Court where they watched the Men’s Doubles Final Match between Caleb/Farah and Mahut/Roger:

It was so lovely seeing these two sisters together publicly. We usually don’t get events like these, so it was quite the treat! Kate and Pippa have always been super close and have been by each other’s sides through the good and bad. I imagine it’s such a great time for both of them being married and with family’s of their own!

The Duchess of Cambridge had also been spotted chatting to The Queen’s cousin, The Duke of Kent, who is The President of Wimbledon. He has the honor and duty of handing out the trophies after the finals. That is a position I can one day see Kate getting!

For her day out with the ladies, The Duchess of Cambridge repeated her Dolce and Gabanna green dress, which she first wore on tour in Canada 2016, with her Rupert Sanderson heels and one of my favorite Dolce and Gabbana purses:

A video of her arrival with Pippa and all the official greetings:

*Bonus*: Prince George and Princess Charlotte spent Saturday with their Grandpa and Grandma Middleton! The kiddos were spotted at the Englefield Summer Fete having fun and going from stall to stall while walking hand-in-hand with their grandparents! Seems like all the Cambridges were spending time in Bucklebury with Michael and Carole!

Sunday: Date Afternoon

On Sunday, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge had a little date afternoon as they headed to the All England Lawn Tennis And Croquet Club for some lunch and Tennis!

The adorably matching pair (I mean just look at how P E R F E C T their coordination is) were there to watch the Men’s Singles Final between  Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic!

They met with some ball girls and ball boys before heading to their lunch. These are the kids who you see running across the court and picking up the balls plus assisting the players by holding their towels and such:

William and Kate are both very sporty, competitive people and they both just relax at events like these! We get some of the cutest photos at Wimbledon matches and other sport related engagements!

I mean just look at them *major heart eyes*!

William is also a fan of tennis (maybe not as much as Kate but still) and used to attend with his mother. He stopped going for some time but then started going again when he married Kate.

The match was another intense one which you can totally tell by their faces:

Also in attendance were Carole Middleton, Pippa Matthews, and James Middleton with his girlfriend, Alizee Thevenet (who is gorgeous).

The Middletons are all total tennis fans but are also, as I’ve mentioned before, close friends to Roger Federer and his family. They’ve been spotted out multiple times together before and Roger recently revealed that he played tennis with Prince George at Michael and Carole’s home in Bucklebury. He attended Pippa’s wedding with his wife in 2017 (pictured below):

They sat right above Roger’s box so they were most likely his guests! Alizee seems to get along greatly with the family:

Unfortunately for the Middletons, Roger did not win (yes I cried). But happily, The Duchess of Cambridge, for the very first time, presented the trophy to the winner, Novak Djokovic, and runner up.

And here she is presenting the runner up trophy to Roger Federer:

She was very very clearly gutted for him in the video below! This whole clip gives me chills! I really hope it becomes an annual thing! Watch the full video by following the link:

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge greeted the winner and his family after the match!

Love this photo of The Duke of Kent and The Duchess of Cambridge!

For her last trip to Wimbledon this year, Kate wore a custom Emilia Wickstead dress with some new pair of Aldo heels with a clutch she debuted in 2017 but it has never been identified:

All of Kate’s 2019 Wimbledon looks:

A video of their arrival plus all the official greetings (P.s In the beginning you can see the wife of the chairman admire their matching outfits haha):

Well, it’s vacation time for the Cambridges! They’ll take a break from their holidays on August 9th for the King’s Cup Regatta but other than that, we’re in for quite the drought. They won’t be back until Early September! But I do have some posts planned so keep an eye out for those!
