Cambridges Prepare For Pakistan Tour With A Special Event
This morning, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge attended a special event at the Aga Khan Center showcasing modern Pakistani culture ahead of their tour to Pakistan from October 14th-18th!
The event allowed The Duke and Duchess to meet multiple individuals from Pakistan including “community leaders, those involved in British and Pakistani business, and key figures within the diaspora community, including musicians, chefs and artists from Pakistan”.
Here they are meeting music producer, Naughty Boy:
The Duchess of Cambridge said she’s been preparing for her visit to Pakistan and has made some curry. She mentioned Princess
Charlotte is good with heat!
Willliam and Kate said they were looking forward to the food in Pakistan when they visit on October 14.
Kate said she cooked curry at home, creating one version for their three children and another for the adults.
But she added: “Charlotte is pretty good with heat.” 🌶— Rebecca English (@RE_DailyMail) October 2, 2019
This morning’s event was hosted by His Highness The Aga Khan. Prince Karim Aga Khan IV is the “49th hereditary Imam (Spiritual Leader) of the Shia Imami Ismaili Muslims”.
The Aga Khan has been the Imam of the Shia Ismaili Muslims since 1957 when he was 20 years old and has since “dedicated his efforts to improving the quality of life of the most vulnerable populations, emphasising the view of Islam as a faith that teaches compassion and tolerance and that upholds human dignity”.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are of course not the only British Royals The Aga Khan has come across! In 2008, Her Majesty held a dinner in honor of His Highness’ Golden Jubilee at Buckingham Palace.
10 years later, in 2018, Her Majesty hosted a similar Dinner at Windsor Castle in honor of The Aga Khan’s Diamond Jubilee.
Other Royals were in attendance as well including The Duchess of Cornwall:
As I mentioned before, the event was held at the Aga Khan Center which is “a place for education, knowledge, cultural exchange and insight into Muslim civilisations”. The Center was officially inaugurated in the Summer 2018 by The Aga Khan and The Prince of Wales.
Earlier this year, The Prince of Wales named The Aga Khan a Global Founding Patron of his The Prince’s Trust:
Some flowers for our flower:
The Duchess of Cambridge wore a gorgeous new dress by ARoss Girl and paired it with her Emmy London ‘Rebecca’ Pumps and the ‘Natasha’ clutch from the same brand:
The Duchess completed her outfit with GORGEOUS earrings by Pakistani designer, Zeen. They really bring out her eyes:
Prince William was also looking quite dapper and handsome! I love this picture of him…
A video from todays engagement:
Along with the reception, The Duke and Duchess has a private meeting with The Aga Khan and the High Commissioner of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan at the Aga Khan Center. Once they got home, they had a meeting with Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan at Kensington Palace. They are really preparing!
Thats all for today! By the sounds of it, the itinerary will be released later this week!
